She has traveled extensively to Ghana as a medical volunteer and has immense experience as the Assistant Nurse manager of Gynecology in the Operating Room at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ and has made it easy to use those organizational skills in volunteering for Medicine in Action.
She has since retired from Cooper and lives part of the time in Jamaica making it easy to liaison between local requests for clinical and surgical needs and services to Medicine In Action to enable a smooth transition and productive missions.
She tirelessly makes arrangements for all the volunteer accommodations, contact clinics that need our services, organizes pre and post mission inventory and solicits medication and supplies needed; keeping in mind to check for outdated inventory.
Moving to Jamaica, where she lives on the North Coast was one of the “best things she has done”. It feels good to Lorraine to hear the volunteers say: “that was a good mission!”
